Famous Hawaii Steam Retreat Gets New Lease After Thieves Steal Title and Force Closure

Pahoa, HI (USA)--A famous tourist attraction at the “back door” to Volcanoes National Park, featuring Hawaii’s only lava-heated steam saunas, just got a new lease on life after years of legal battles against racketeers forced it closed.

The State’s “SCENIC POINT” sign directs travelers into the “Kingdom of Heaven”—a one-of-a-kind landmark on the old Kalapana Highway en-route to the lava flow.

Originally called the “Steam Vent Inn at Volcano Ranch” the owners offered “private accommodations for steaming, bathing, and overnighting,” but its ministry owner was forced into insolvency by the seller—a convicted marijuana trafficker--aided-and-abetted by members of his crime gang who attempted to foreclose every way possible, according to court records and police complaints.

Now the attraction has reopened, but this time under direction of Medical Veritas International, Inc. (MVI)—a 501(c)3 educational company dedicated to preserving and promoting natural healing.

Troubles in Paradise

The Jurassic Park-like estate was purchased in 2004 by Dr. Leonard Horowitz, internationally known for many works challenging vaccinations while promoting “energy medicine” and alternatives to risky drugs such as OxySilver.

More than $6 million in losses and legal fees over the years forced Horowitz’s ministry into insolvency, and the gates closed on Hawaii’s only lava-heated steam saunas with adjacent geothermal bathing pools.

The organized crime gang actually stole title to the property by manufacturing a series of fake mortgages, promissory note transfers, and quitclaim deeds; all filed with the State, resulting in the slandering the property’s title and ownership records.

After multiple lawyers, court cases, and appeals to law enforcers failed to stop the white collar crime gang, as the property tax debt mounted, the doctor petitioned County of Hawaii tax officials for assistance.

“They immediately saw the problem,” said MVI Vice President, Sherri Kane. “In fact, tax officials said they were very familiar with property title thieves that are common on the Big Island.”

“Our tax office agreement gives us a new lease on life,” said Kane.

“That means we can open the gates again, and accommodate the community, tourists, and groups that have been turned away under pressure from these racketeers,” Dr. Horowitz said.

New Lease on Life

The MVI’s mission is to teach people about natural ways to heal themselves of cultural or lifestyle illnesses. The company publishes an online journal that discourages people from getting vaccinated, or taking drugs with side effects. Alternatively, the non-profit company promotes natural alternatives, including lava-heated steam that many researchers and Hawaiian Kahunas claim is “sacred” and medicinal.

“We originally bought the property,” Dr. Horowitz said, “for the therapeutic steam; and for the past nine years, despite our legal battles, we’ve lived closer to lava heated steam than anyone on earth.”

Steam fills the air at the Kingdom of Heaven. Visitors are astonished by a hundred-yard stretch of billowing vents, adjacent the Big Island’s second largest sink-hole and a huge lava tube. Some of the most active vents in Hawaii are found here. One is named the “Big Kahuna.” It sends steam to two natural healing saunas simultaneously, one accommodates up to a dozen bathers.

Government officials caution users about risky sulfur levels, and most warn people to avoid the vents, but Horowitz, a Harvard-trained naturopathic doctor, disagrees.

“You don’t smell a trace of sulfur in our steam,” he said. “We’ve routinely collected it for years, drink it regularly, and prepare hot fresh peppermint and lemon grass tea with it most mornings. It is, literally, the ‘Breath of the Earth,” filled with the “good vibrations” of the precious ‘aina.

Dr. Masaru Emoto, a New York Times bestselling author of Messages in Water, concurs. He took a sample of “Breath of the Earth” to his Japanese cryogenic lab for study. His findings were remarkable. One flash frozen sample photo shows a snowflake design with the ultrasound-image of a human fetus within it. The umbilical cord is clearly attached.

“We speculate the message in this water depicts the ancient Hawaiian prophecy foretelling the rebirth of the planet in the aloha spirit, that the Kahunas say shall come through an umbilical cord stretching from the top of Mauna Kea from the center of the universe.”

That is, in fact, the clear message Dr. Emoto’s series of frozen water micrographs appear to relay.
